Write a novel in a month. Paint a picture in a second. Sing a song in space.

I used to enjoy writing at school, however I haven't really done much since then, which is probably because every time I do start to write something I hear a little voice inside my head saying "this is shit", and more often than not the voice is right. Incidentally, I just heard my next-door neighbour through the wall yawn loudly, it's as if he can read what I'm typing right now! And another thing, one time I was walking in the park when suddenly a squirrel looked at me funny, so right there and then I vowed never to play the piano again. Neighbour yawned again.

So, here's what got me onto the subject of writing, this website: NaNoWriMo

The blurb:

National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.

Valuing enthusiasm and perseverance over painstaking craft, NaNoWriMo is a novel-writing program for everyone who has thought fleetingly about writing a novel but has been scared away by the time and effort involved.

Because of the limited writing window, the ONLY thing that matters in NaNoWriMo is output. It's all about quantity, not quality. The kamikaze approach forces you to lower your expectations, take risks, and write on the fly.

You know I think I might give it a go, anyone else fancy writing a bloody great stinking novel in a month? You can register on the website and get involved properly (which I can't really be bothered with to be honest) or you can just take away the basic concept: starting on the 1st of November, you will write an entire novel by the end of the month.

spag bol

I am thinking of making spaghetti bolognese, it will look something like this, adding meatballs to the dish seems like overkill to me though.

I always forget to buy/draw the parmesan.

Your Movies (well, two of them)

In a previous blog post some months back I asked you for movie titles which I would then draw the poster for, you all remember right? I know, I know - you've been thinking of nothing else! Well anyway, here's the ones that I did manage to pry from my creative lock-box of a mind. I gave up after making these two because they weren't turning out that great, see also about a million other projects I start and never finish.

FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF ON A BLOG, OMG WHATEVER NEXT, DUDE!

Thanks for your suggestions.

The Hotness

It is hot in here (the United Kingdom and Islands of Britannicalandshire upon Thames), and it is set to get hotter throughout the next week. Living in the ridiculously constructed abode that I do the hotter months become almost unbearable, if you imagine a cave situated on the side of an active volcano then that will give you some idea of what it's like (woe is me). My home is blazing hot in the summer and sub zero in the winter, I would be better off living in a tent, perhaps in some sort of rad commune? I did have a point to make when I started this but I forget what it was, anyway please do enjoy this picture of the different lengths of shorts available to us blokes.

I'm a sensible short man myself.
